Today is the day after Thanksgiving. One of the only days of the year that I truly step aside from work (our school clients and employees often step aside this day as well), and grant myself full permission to do whatever I may want. And no, I am not a Black Friday kind of gal!!
So my day started with my normal spiritual practice (only a few hours later than normal), then cooking for the family before they all went on about their days, on to serious house cleaning, and a three mile walk with a kick-butt audio book (Light Warrior) by one of my greatest teachers and favorite authors, Kyle Gray. It’s 51 degrees, windy but sunny, and I’m feeling connected to all that is good.
It is within these simple moments I glimpse the perspective that there is right order within everything. And that when we think something is hectic or insurmountable, has gone off or is sideways, it too will correct.
We see that there is an organizing power and love among us that is only cut off if we cut ourselves off from it - and that sometimes the best way for all of this to wash through our awareness is to get offline, exhale, open and receive.
May your days ahead offer open moments of true awareness, and the blessings that are granted from them.
